Sports Leaders

The Department is keen to create links with local primary schools. Our Juniors Sports Leaders have coached netball in local schools and organised both netball and football tournaments for younger students.

Local schools make use of the swimming pool when it is not being used by Burntwood students. We have also hosted school sports days on our field. For more information on using our facilities please contact Ms. C. Potter.

Some of our young leaders have been equally successful. A number of the JSLA students have helped at Wandsworth sporting events and some of our CSLA students were volunteers at an AENA international netball event. Others have gained employment organising games for young children at social events.

Mercy Dennis-Smith achieved her CSLA in the 6th form and as an extension of this went on to gain her ASA Swimming Teachers Award, which has enabled her to get paid employment in a local leisure centre.
