Workshops
The department arranges for pupils to participate in a range of activities/workshops to help develop the skills that pupils learn in lessons. This year up to 100 year 7 & 8 pupils took part in a whole day workshop with the Hip-Hop company ‘Boy Blue’. Pupils were treated to a performance by the company and then taught a sequence. Pupils were then invited to audition for their production ‘Pied Piper’ at the Barbican. One of our pupils was successful in gaining a place and performed with the company at Christmas.
The pupils were also given the opportunity to take part in a workshop with a performer who has appeared in ‘Fame, the ‘Michael Jackson Tribute tour’ and ‘Hollyoaks’. Pupils were taught a challenging sequence from a Michael Jackson Dance used in the tribute tour.
