Black History Month at Burntwood - 25th October 2010

Burntwood is marking Black History Month with a number of engaging events and activities. The Library held a forum, ‘My Story’, inviting students and staff to explore their family histories and their links to South London, resulting in a colourful Library display. This theme of identity and belonging was explored further in a whole school assembly. Library competitions celebrating Black History and Asian History are running throughout the month and the film ‘Cry Freedom’ was screened by the Humanities Department.
