Poet Neal Zetter Visits Burntwood - 31st January 2011
On Friday 21st January, Burntwood students thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the School by performance poet, Neal Zetter. As well as writing and performing his own poetry, Neal runs workshops across London on how the power of poetry can inspire confidence, self-expression and self-esteem.
He performed a selection of poems to students in Years 7 and 8, followed by a question and answer session on his poetry. He also joined a Year 10 class to work with them on how he finds ideas for his poems and how to get started when writing poetry. Students were inspired to try writing poems themselves and will send their finished work to Neal for his comments.
