Science Specialist School
Arts Council - Artsmark Gold
We are delighted to announce that Burntwood has been awarded GOLD Artsmark by Arts Council, England; this is the top award for the Artsmark.
Arts Council England's Artsmark award recognises schools that demonstrate a commitment to providing opportunities across all art forms from drama to music, design to literature, dance to sculpture. The scheme also encourages schools to work in partnership with artists and arts organisations.
Eco Schools Silver Award
We are pleased to announce Burntwood School has now achieved the Eco-Schools Silver award to recognise their achievement in working towards a sustainable lifestyle.
FMSiS
Financial Management Standards in Schools is a set of standards developed to give schools a clear and consistent set of standards for financial management. Burntwood School has been audited and has met all the standards required to achieve the FMSiS award.
Healthy Schools
The Healthy Schools Programme is a joint initiative between DfE and Department of Health which promotes a whole school approach to health. Burntwood School achieved Healthy School status by demonstrating that health education is an integrated part of the school curriculum and that the wider community is involved in its planning, implementation, evaluation and celebration.
ICT Mark
Burntwood School has been awarded the prestigious government-funded ICT Mark for its innovative and widespread use of Information Communication Technology to support students’ learning at all levels within the school.
This national award recognises Burntwood’s success in developing the strategic use of ICT in both administration and across the curriculum and clearly demonstrates to parents that their children are attending a school at the forefront of modern technology.

International School Award (ISA)
The ISA is an accreditation scheme for curriculum based international work in schools. It recognises teachers and their schools for bringing a global dimension to their pupils' education. To achieve the full award schools must provide a programme of international activities from partnerships with schools in other countries and develop an ‘international ethos’ in the education and curriculum.
Partnership Promotion Schools
The Partnership Promotion Schools Network is innovative way of encouraging more schools to be actively in Initial Teacher Training (ITT).
The Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Partnership Team is responsible for taking forward ITT reforms and supporting providers in their implementation.
Sport England - Sportsmark
Sportsmark is Sport England's accreditation scheme for secondary schools. It rewards and recognises a school for its out of hours sports provision and a broad and balanced PE curriculum.
This award is earned by those schools that have effective policies and practices in place for the provision of a well balanced physical education programme.
UNICEF - Rights Respecting School
This is a national award that promotes the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As a Rights Respecting School, Burntwood is using the UNCRC as the foundation for enhancing teaching, learning, ethos, attitudes and behaviour. Students are learning how to become active global citizens and to recognise that with rights come responsibilities.
Wandsworth Green Champion Award
Burntwood has been awarded the Wandsworth Green Champion Award in the category of of Green Secondary School or Sixth Form College.
As a winner, Burntwood demonstrated its commitment to protecting the environment and the quality of the environmental education provide for students.
The Wandsworth Green Champions Competition recognise individuals, groups and organisations that are doing what they can to make the Borough a greener place to live.
