Over 250 students and staff from Burntwood have been rehearsing since the summer for our musical production of Sweet Charity.
Young Chef of the Year - 24th January 2014
Last night's preparations for the Mayor of Wandsworth's Young Chef of the Year competition went very well indeed.There are now six year 10 finalists for the Burntwood heat to find our candidate to represent the school in the finals of the competition which will be held in March.
Ms Lebowitz in Cambodia
Ms Lebowitz has gone to Cambodia for two terms to work with the PEPY organisation. PEPY (Promoting Education, emPowering Youth) is a Cambodia-based education and youth-leadership organisation that believes education is the key to sustainable change.
Wandsworth More Life Assembly - 16th January 2014
The Wandsworth More Life health promotion group came in to do a presentation at whole school assembly on hidden sugars in soft drinks. Students and staff were amazed at just how much sugar is contained in popular drinks including ones students thought were healthy options.
Burntwood School Choir performing at Cadogan Hall In The Snow Queen and The Griffin and the Grail on Friday 20th December 2013
The Cadogan Hall in Chelsea is the venue for a festive double-bill of magical musical adventures - The Snow Queen and The Griffin and the Grail - both narrated by BAFTA-winner, Olivia Colman on the afternoon of Friday 20th December.
The school will be closing early on this day so parents and students will be able to attend.
Opening of Performing Arts Block - 5th December 2013
Burntwood’s stunning new Performing Arts Block was declared officially open on Friday 29th November. MP for Tooting, Sadiq Khan, and the Mayor of Wandsworth, Angela Graham, attended as well as representatives from Burntwood’s buildings partners, and Lend Lease architects AHMM.
Requests for Term-Time Absences
The Principal has a discretionary power to grant a leave of absence, but will only do so in exceptional circumstances. This leave is very unlikely to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday. The school is advised by the Department for Education and Wandsworth Council to actively discourage time off school for family holidays.

Anti-Bullying Week at Burntwood 18th - 22nd November 2013
It is Anti-Bullying Week across the country and at Burntwood. Once again, Burntwood is supporting the ‘Beat Bullying’ campaign and the message ‘Bullying is unacceptable –for everyone, everywhere’.
This week, students have been involved in assemblies, activities, quizzes and competitions to raise awareness.
