LionHeart Challenge Final - 13th November 2011
As winners of the Lion Heart Challenge London Regional Final in July, a team of Burntwood’s Year 11 students participated in the National Final for this enterprise competition, held in Lancaster on November 4th.
Schools representing nine regions in England competed for the LionHeart trophy in the city’s Ashton Hall and Lancaster Castle. The students presented their product, ‘Malaria Shirts’, designed to help prevent the disease by repelling mosquitoes, to a panel of eminent business people.
Following a tough competition, the Year 11s were delighted to win the award for the ‘Best Finance Package’. They celebrated their achievements at a glittering evening ceremony held at Lancaster Town Hall.
