Art & Photography Summer Shows 2010 - 22nd June 2010
The Private View for the Art & Photography department's annual summer show takes place on Tuesday 22nd June between 4.30pm and 7.00pm.

Book Fair - 16th March 2010
Tuesday 16th March and Wednesday 17th March. Books will be supplied by the Golden Treasury Bookshop, an independent bookshop in Southfields. World Book Day £1 Book Tokens can be used at the Book Fair.
World Book Day - 4th March 2010
World Book Day was on Thursday 4th March. Staff wore badges saying ‘Ask me what I am reading’ and students in years 7-9 had badges with their favourite book on them.
This is to generate discussion about books.
Author visit for World Book Day - 2nd March 2010
To celebrate World Book Day, author Carmen Reid visited Burntwood on Tuesday 2nd March. She spoke to 6 classes from Years 8, 9, & 10. Carmen has worked as a journalist for local and national newspapers and is the author of the 'St. Jude's' series of books for teenagers.
Carmen Reid spoke about how she started writing and really enthused students about reading and writing. At lunchtime, students were able to talk to her and get signed copies of her books.
Engaging Author Visit - February 2010
Author Annette Hart visited Burntwood School in February to talk about her work. Annette’s first book ‘Blood and Allegiance’ was published last year.
Auction of Promises - 23rd February 2010
On Tuesday 23rd February at 7pm there will be an Auction of Promises to raise money for the Chamber Choir trip to Barcelona.

Business Challenge For Year 10 - February 2010
Year 10 students took part in the LionHeart Challenge this month. The all-day workshop gave students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills with a variety of work-related activities.
