1. Introduction and Welcome

2. UNICEF Rights Respecting School – Anna Mansaray

Anna Mansaray, Assistant Principal, gave a presentation on what is a Rights Respecting School. Burntwood has achieved Level 1 of the Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA). To achieve this Burntwood has demonstrated that the values and language of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) are embedded in the school’s ethos.

3. Uniform Update

Charles Harper updated parents on the work of the Student Council on developing a new uniform to coincide with BSF.

Matters arising from this discussion included:

• Sweatshirt could be discontinued
• A blazer or jacket
• V neck jumper and cardigan
• Red and grey colours to stay
• Black coat to be introduced
• Refreshed logo
• Must be of good quality and washable
• Same uniform for Lower and Upper school

4. Paper or paperless?

The group agreed that it was a good idea to direct families to the website for letters and the school newsletter. They proposed a range of ideas to promote the use of the school website to access letters and the newsletter.

5. AOB

Parents would prefer that letters regarding attendance at an event should provide the option not to attend as well as to attend.
