This is a summary of the minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 25th January 2011

Introduction and Welcome – Charles Harper

1. Cold Weather News

Comments had been received on the lack of clear information regarding the arrangements for the start of this term and also the opening of the school during the snowy weather. A text message alerting families to the end of term letter on the school website was sent out. There is also always a rolling banner on the school website to alert families to any relevant notification.

2. Burntwood School Building Project – Update

A designer has been appointed to work on the aesthetic elements of the new build. This includes the colour of the interiors, the Burntwood logo, uniform and signage. The Interface Project is part of the BSBP. This addresses how the hoardings will look during the building work. The sustainability of the new build was also discussed.

3. English Baccalaureate

The group discussed recent league tables including the introduction of the English Baccalaureate.

4. AOB

The group asked about trips for Year 8 and whether the Lake District Trip will go ahead this year.
The group asked about the start of term arrangements for September 2011.

The next meeting of the Parents’ Communication Group is on Tuesday 15th March 2011 6.30 -7.30
