Congratulations to Year 12 student, Elizabeth Bellis, who has been recognised for being the highest reviser on SAM Learning in the Borough of Wandsworth.
Last month, Miss Cheers and Miss Howes took 14 AS Geography students to Swanage in Dorset to research and investigate rural rebranding and coastal management.
On Friday 25th November, Sir Donald Irvine, retired doctor and chairman of the healthcare charity Picker Institute Europe, visited Burntwood to talk to Year 13 Religious Studies students.
On Thursday 17th November, Year 13 students completing an Extended Project enjoyed a trip with Business teacher, Mr Whapham, to University College London.
Burntwood School Sixth Formers are celebrating on achieving an impressive set of A level results.
From the 2nd to the 9th July, eight students from four schools in Wandsworth, including Burntwood Sixth Formers, Annie Gingell and me (Lucy Dyer), were on a school trip to India.
Year 13 students celebrated their time at Burntwood Sixth Form with a Leavers’ Party. A disco, a candy floss stand and a bouncy castle helped to make the celebration a truly memorable event.
Burntwood students Emily Cunningham, Year 13, and Priscilla Mensah, Year 12, both winners of the ‘Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship’ debating competition were invited by the US Embassy to attend President Obama’s address to Members of both Houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall on Wednesday 24th May.
Burntwood is very proud of it long tradition of academic success at A level. We have for many years now seen our students move on to study at very prestigious universities, art schools or follow their dreams to study medicine.
Burntwood 6th Formers’ Envision Team, ‘Who Are You’, attended a star studded event at the O2 last month. They were invited to the ‘vinspired National Awards’ ceremony as finalists for the ‘Connect Award’, nominated by Envision for the fantastic work they have done in celebrating cultural diversity. Although the team did not win the overall category, they were Regional Winners and one of four national finalists. They were also commended for their volunteer work by MP Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society.
