6th Form Interns - 15th April 2013
Burntwood’s Year 12 students have been preparing for the world of work. Wandsworth’s business and enterprise organisation, BEST, has provided a series of trips and events including interview practice and advice on how to present oneself when applying for and starting a new job.
The programme culminates in a two week work experience that is tailored to their particular interests.
Students enjoyed a visit to the head of of ‘Lend Lease’, Burntwood’s building partner.
Sports Leaders Support The Panathlon Challenge - 25th February 2013
Sixth Form students who attended a ‘Step into Sport’ course in January put their new skills into action at the Wandsworth Panathlon Challenge this month.
Visit to The National Archives - 10th February 2013
A-level History students visited The National Archives at Kew to carry out research to support their studies. Year 13 students enjoyed a workshop on Tudor England which provided useful information for their coursework on rebellions in Tudor England.
Year 13 Parents’ Evening - Thursday 17th January 2013
Year 13 Parents Evening on Thursday 17th January at 4:30 to 7:30 pm in the Maths and Science Building. Letters have been given to all students to take home and it is an important meeting for all parents to attend.

Sixth Formers Quiz Ed Miliband - 15th December 2012
On the 14th December, Burntwood’s Sixth Formers were invited to attend an exclusive event at the Samaj Patidar Hall in Tooting to hear Leader of the Opposition, Ed Miliband, discuss his vision for cultural diversity in Britain.
Geography Trip to Swanage - 5th December 2012
At the end of November, twenty-one A-level geographers, accompanied by Miss Howes and Miss Low, set off for the annual residential field trip to Swanage, Dorset.
EPQ to UCL - 22nd November 2012
Extended Project Qualification students, accompanied by Business teacher, Mr Whapham, attended a lecture at UCL this month.

As part of their BTEC in Business, Burntwood’s Year 13 students enjoyed a fascinating tour of Burntwood’s construction site.

This month, Year 13 students, Jennifer Higham and Amy Cameron-Johnstone, represented Burntwood in the Wandsworth round of this year’s ‘Debating Matters Competition’.
