Sixth Form Courses
In the Senior School, students are prepared for GCE Advanced Supplementary (AS) and Advanced (A2) Level examinations, Applied Vocational A levels and BTEC Qualifications. GCSE subjects and Key Skills are also available.
GCSE courses covered are: English Language and Mathematics
All Year 13 students are strongly encouraged to aim for Higher or Further Education places. Successes of former students have provided us with well established links with many Universities (including Oxford and Cambridge) and a variety of other specialist colleges such as Colleges of Art, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the London Academy of Contemporary Dance. Burntwood is part of the South Wandsworth Area Network programme (SWAN) with three other local secondary schools. To support their academic progress, all students have personal mentors with whom they meet regularly to discuss progress.
Burntwood Bursaries of up to £300 are awarded on application to Year 12 students to support structured Summer Holiday activities. Bursaries have been awarded for projects such as Dance and Drama Courses, Study Abroad, Conservation Projects, courses linked to Medicine, Music Art and voluntary service abroad.
