Scholars Programme
The Burntwood Scholars’ Programme is an opportunity to encourage students who have a particular strength or particular love of a subject to engage fully both in and out of the classroom.
These include:
- Attendance to a subject scholars’ club
- First options on trips and in school events
- Running whole school and year assemblies
- Working with subject leaders during GCSE and A-Level options events
- Running an inside out activity to promote their chosen subject
- Working with staff on events such as open season and open evenings
- Meeting with the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body
- Meeting with specialists from careers linked to subjects – ie – Mary Beard for the History Scholars
- Mentoring younger students within the scholars programme – ie – Year 13 students supporting Year 11s with exams.
