Para Team Success!
The Burntwood Para Team have gone from one success to another this term, participating in a range of events – from Boccia to Indoor Rowing to the recent Panathlon which challenged their wide range of skills. In this final competition of the year, the team faced strong competition from other local schools but emerged victorious!
Bea tells us about her experience on the Para Team:
"Being part of the Para Team has helped me meet new friends, both at Burntwood and at other schools. I’ve met so many different people who have different skills – I’ve even learnt some sign language along the way that has helped me communicate with different people. I was a bit worried when I went to my first competition because I’d never been selected to play on a Sports Team before, but I had so much fun. I was really proud that, in my first competition, we won a trophy that I got to carry back to school. From then on, I have felt more confident to get involved in other events. Last week, I was selected by my group to be Team Captain and this made me feel very honoured."
Well done to everyone involved in the Para Team this year. Your success is testament to the incredible teamwork, spirit and dedication you demonstrate in each of your events.
