Special Educational Needs (SEND) Information Report
At Burntwood School, we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We work closely with Wandsworth guidance to ensure that children with different additional needs are effectively supported within our mainstream setting. Our dedicated Learning Support team offers a range of interventions, including in-class support, individual programmes, and small group workshops focused on reading, writing, spelling, communication, and understanding
As part of our commitment to SEND provision, we have the Burntwood School Resource Base. This specialist provision caters to girls aged 11-18 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) specifying Social & Emotional Mental Health needs as a primary concern. The Resource Base provides a tailored learning environment, offering one-to-one support, small group sessions, and access to timetabled lessons, allowing us to adapt each student's provision as their needs evolve. We also provide excellent pastoral and therapeutic interventions, ensuring that our SEND students receive comprehensive support to thrive academically and personally
